Why configure an MPF Trustee for the eMPF platform?
You should start registering eMPF accounts from the date on which the MPF scheme you are participating in onboards to the eMPF Platform.
You need to submit the MPF contribution statement to the eMPF platform after preparing payroll in Backstage.
How to configure an MPF Trustee for the eMPF platform?
For existing clients
Please update the MPF Trustee information after the MPF Trustee and Scheme onboard the eMPF Platform.
In the pre-eMPF era, Backstage allowed one MPF Trustee record to be shared by multiple companies. This is no longer valid because eMPF requires a unique Employer Account Number for each Company + MPF Trustee combination. When you are about to onboard to the eMPF platform, please follow these steps to "split" your MPF Trustee record:
Go to Payroll -> MPF Trustee and look for your MPF Trustee record. We have already highlighted qualified records with "Employer is not defined."
Click More -> Split by Employer. Here's what will happen:
Backstage will scan all placement records and identify companies associated with this MPF Trustee.
For each company, Backstage will create a new MPF Trustee record. This record will now be dedicated to this company and the MPF Trustee.
For all placements employed by this company, Backstage will update their MPF Trustee to this newly created record.
