Why Check Card Reader Network Status?

Sometimes, you may experience issues downloading attendance records from the card reader to the Ingress system, it could be related to a network problem. Here’s how to check the device network status:

  • Device connection Status in Ingress system
  • Ping status in CMD
  • Check any IP changes / IP blacklist between card reader and router
  • Check any network disconnect between the card reader and the router
  • Check any damage/ dysfunction of the cable line between the card reader and the router
  • Check any disconnect between the Ingress server PC and router

How to Check Card Reader Network Status?

1. Device Connection Status in Ingress System:

  • Go to Devices and check the Connection Status
  • You can find the IP address of the related device

2. Ping Status Command Prompt (CMD):

  • Open Windows Search and type CMD
  • Use the ping command to check the related device with IP Address from Ingress
    • You can ask your IT team to assist with this, or you can do it yourself
