Dear Backstage Users,

Please find below list of new features that we introduced from July to September 2024.

Backstage Team

System Level

  • Smtp Settings:
    • New page - System Menu -> Smtp Settings. SMTP fields are maintained here instead of on System Settings
    • Connection - System Email, Display Name, Host, Port, User Name, Password, and Enable SSL
    • Send Test Email - send a test message from a slide-in on the page, to check the connection
  • Custom Fields - multiple-choice fields support selecting more than one value, including Activity in Admin Portal and Employee Portal

Payroll

  • Autopay / Wing Lung - new 2024 CSV template
  • Payroll Batch:
    • Unpost - not allowed when any payroll in the batch is billed on an invoice
    • List - employer name is shown, and you can search by company name
  • MPF Trustee - Scheme Registration Number for eMPF; the plan number is used as employer account number on the eMPF contribution file
  • Payroll Variables:
    • China Individual Income Tax - [CHINA_INDIVIDUAL_INCOME_TAX(SPECIAL_ADDITIONAL_DEDUCTIONS_PAY_TYPES=…)] for special additional deductions
    • Late Day - [LATE_DAY(M-1)] to count last month
    • LAST_LAST_MONTH - two months before, e.g. [LEAVE_DAY(LAST_LAST_MONTH)], next to LAST_MONTH

Leave Management

  • Leave Balance - days entitled are shown with an explanation of how they were calculated (including Hybrid Year)
