Dear Backstage Users,

Please find below list of new features that we introduced from January to March 2024.

Backstage Team

System Level

  • Password Validation - complex passwords now also accept /, + and -; rules are only applied when a password is actually entered
  • Custom Value - warning when a value is not in the expected list, and more reliable handling of Select values
  • Residential Address - new field "Hong Kong Address Nature", used later on IR56 forms
  • Job Order Export - includes Purchase Order Number
  • Job Order - Contract End Date is validated

Placement

  • Internal Transfer - blocked when there are pending leave applications
  • Placement Import - supervisors can be removed from a supervisor group; fixed supervisors being added again on each import
  • Group Join Date and MPF Commencement Date - recalculated from the dates shown on screen when editing a placement

Payroll

  • Payroll Batch:
    • Same Person Warning - warns when the same applicant (different placements) appears more than once in the same batch
    • Delete by Selection - selected payrolls can be deleted from the batch
    • Select Placement - select by HKID or passport number, or by pasting job order number plus HKID; lists support paste from clipboard
    • Payroll List - shows company name on hover, batch status, and highlights the same placement
    • Posted Batch - when payroll-level status is enabled (off by default), payroll status cannot be changed once the batch is posted
  • Analytic -> Payslip:
    • Email - send from the report panel, with a new Email condition
    • Search - search by applicant

Invoice

  • Create Invoice - default currency is filled when selecting a client
  • Payroll Details - can still be viewed when the invoice cannot be edited

Timesheet

  • Delegated Approver - timesheet can now be approved by a delegated approver
  • Auto-sync - last run is shown on the timesheet list; auto-sync can be run manually from Import

Taxation

  • IR56B / F / G - use the new Hong Kong Address Nature on the residential address
  • Singapore IR8A - print-out updated to the 2023 version

Reports

  • Placement Insurance Enrollment Report - new report
  • SPLSP Calculation - new parameter to choose average or last month wages
  • Invoice Details Report - includes invoice details not from payroll

Employee Portal

  • Team Roster - non-leave approvers can view leave entry details; leave cannot be edited in a blocked period
